Ground Cherries

Nothing says summer like ...ground cherries. Bursting with a pineapple like flavor, these little packages of fruit grow freely in tropical climates and now, in Maryland.  We enjoy them right out of the husk , but a ground cherry salsa might be a hit at the next tailgaiting party.

'Tis the season for dark and leafy greens and we got em. Nutritional powerhouses you have never heard of.  From mizuna to Lagos spinach and hibiscus, travel the globe and try new exotic greens enjoyed throughout the world.  With the hot weather now, we have some tangy hibiscus leaves to add a lemony freshness to a salad or maybe a smoothie.

Everywhere. It's like a global summit of peppers-some mild and some, ooh la la! From Ethiopia we have brown berbere peppers and mitmita and from , most tropical countries- habanero peppers. And of course , we have lovely red and green jalapeno peppers for pickling or poppers.
